Mentorum, a Montreal start-up co-founded by Georges Laraque and Jason Frohlich, launches a platform that aims to reinvent the health and wellness industry
Montreal (Quebec), October 4, 2016 – Mentorum, a Montreal-based start-up, has launched a platform that connects people with health & wellness professionals, based on their specific needs and location. The new company is collaborating with TELUS Health to expand its market share in Quebec and Canada.
Mentorum allows people to filter, find and schedule appointments with 11 different types of health professionals in the private sector. They specialize in fitness, nutrition, manual therapy and wellness. “It’s no secret that Quebecers’ health is in dire need of care. I asked myself what I could do to help out and decided to create a new tool that would focus on wellness and prevention,” says Georges Laraque. This initiative sparked the idea of creating Mentorum.
“The other tools and platforms available on the market look like online directories, where names and general information are presented in a generic way, without recommendations based on people’s needs. Mentorum is an interactive platform that allows people to filter by specific needs, location, language, and gender. It also allows people to review the feedback and ratings of others before deciding with whom to book – think the Airbnb of Health.
United by a common goal of offering a great customer experience, Mentorum and TELUS Health are joining forces to attract a network of health professionals who will adopt their pioneering services.
The collaboration with TELUS Health focuses on eClaims, a free service for health professionals such as chiropractors and physiotherapists. “When patients visit health professionals that are part of eClaims, they only pay the amount that is not covered by their insurer. This eliminates claims-related paperwork. For health professionals, this translates into customer loyalty and savings on transaction costs.
Everyone wins!” – explains Karine Tougas, Product Director at TELUS Health.
The platform is currently available online for free and allows people to find health & wellness professionals in the Greater Montreal area. The mobile application will be launched shortly. Mentorum expects to expand to other cities across Quebec, Canada, and the United States within the next two years.
Health and wellness professionals interested in offering their services on Mentorum can register here and get one month of free membership.
